William J. Castle, P.E. is founder and President of W.J. Castle, P.E. & Associates, P.C. (CASTLE), an Engineering Company specializing in structural and marine engineering. CASTLE was developed in 1983 and the Company performs a variety of services including; engineering, underwater inspections, underwater construction and rehabilitation, and fathometric and hydrographic survey of various marine structures. Mr. Castle is a Licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland and Florida as well as a certified diver, who has personally performed over 1,500 underwater inspections of bridges, piers, docks and outfall structures. He is a recognized leader in both the engineering and diving fields and is one of the few licensed professional engineer/divers in the country.
Mr. Castle is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Association of Diving Contractors (ADC) of which he was elected East Coast Chapter Chairman in 2009 as well as holding a position on the Board of Directors. He is also a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Concrete Institute and the Transportation Research Board. In his career of over 39 years, Mr. Castle has received numerous honors and awards for both personal and professional achievement including “N.J. 2007 Outstanding Professional Engineer Award” by the NJSPE, Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers 2006 Recipient of the “Outstanding Project” Award, ASCE 2005 New Jersey “Civil Engineer of the Year”, 2004 Alumni Fellow Award from Pennsylvania State University, NJDOT/NJQI for “Best Small Bridge” Design/Build category in 2002 and the 2009 COPRI Project Excellence Award in the small project category and Pennsylvania State University Outstanding Alumni Award.
Richard A. Parisi, P.E.
Richard A. Parisi, P.E., is a Professional Engineer Licensed in Florida, Pennsylvania, New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Mr. Parisi has over 30 years of experience in the field of structural engineering and has worked for W.J. Castle, P.E. & Associates, P.C. as Lead Project Engineer for over seven years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and is the past President of the Philadelphia Chapter of PSPE.
Mr. Parisi has extensive and varied experience in the field of engineering which enables him to successfully transition between office and field aspects of the job. Mr. Parisi duties include; Project Management, Quality Control Review, Develop and Review Engineering Designs, and Preparation of Bids/Proposals. Mr. Parisi specializes in construction contractor support engineering such as: lift plans, cofferdams, temporary sheeting and shoring and temporary structures. Mr. Parisi also performs bridge inspections, hydrographic surveying and sonar imaging.
